Frequently Asked Questions

What type of makeup do you use?

I use a wide variety of products from department store-quality lines, primarily Lancome, MAC, and Bobbi Brown. I have many options for which type of products you prefer, from tinted moistuizer, to long-wearing foundation that does not budge a bit.  I offer airbrush makeup services, as well as traditional.

How long does the makeup last?

All of the makeup is long-wear; the eye makeup is long wear + waterproof.  Please see the kind words page for client feedback on this important subject.

What days of the week can I book with you?

I am available for travel to your location Monday through Saturday.

Can I book my makeup trial run date to coordinate with my bridal portrait session?

Yes, absolutely! Please remember that Charleston is a top US and world destination, and dates tend to book up fast. Your venue, photographer, hair stylist and makeup artist all need to have the portrait date available, so the sooner you can secure appointments with everyone, the better.  I am available for weekday appointments, and can occasionally work appointments in either before or after Saturday bookings.

Which comes first, makeup or hair styling?

I am flexible with this. Generally speaking, it is better for makeup to go before hair, especially when your hair stylist will have your hair styled down around the face; bangs, for example. We will work around hair appointments and determine what is best for each individual's schedule.

How much time should I set aside for makeup?

During your trial run appointment, we spend approximately an hour and 15 minutes together to choose products, colors, and make final decisions. On the wedding day, bridal makeup is 45 minutes. Each additional person is approximately 30 minutes.

Is there a minimum number of people required to book my wedding date?

Yes, there is a minimum number of three required to book the date (bride plus 2).

What are your rates?

Please contact me using the form provided on the contact page, and I will be happy to check availability and send you more information specific to your date and location. Please give as much detailed information as possible about your venue location, what area of town makeup will be done in, and time. Please be sure to provide your phone number so I have another way to contact you if spam filters block my email to you.

Do you travel outside of Charleston?

Yes, I am available for travel and am happy to do so.

How do I secure my event date with you?

Once we have determined that your date is available and you are ready to book the date, I will send you a service agreement contract. You will have 10 days to complete and return with your initial payment.  I do accept credit cards if that is easiest for you.
